Amanda Calloway Endorsement

Dear Mr. Lunt,

I wanted to take the opportunity to let you know how much you are appreciated. Though the Greenlee County Fair was different this year, it was so much fun, a different kind of fun. The smell in the air was different. The variety of crowd, the auction participants and the vendors were different, but the buyers from local businesses were there to support the kids.
While assisting my nephew in the task of pig washing, I heard a familiar voice. I looked across the show ring and there you were with a happy disposition, as you have been for as long as I can remember, for at least the last 30 plus years. Even though your face donned a mask, you could still see a smile on your face and see how you treated each child as if they and their animal were the Grand Champion Showman. I can recall all the years you were behind the scenes in one way or another. From showing a green hand a thing or two in the ring before a show, to taking over a parent's duty when they got called out or lending a hand to wash a pig, you were there. I even recall the times you’ve explained to a child that the animal they have paid for, worked hard for and cared for, now has to be put down because they were sick a week before the fair. Better yet, sometimes you have been able to save the animal.
Your kindness to children, including myself as a child, has been so welcome and much appreciated. You and your wife have fed, given service to, and mourned with us as a community, and privately as friends. Thank you again for being an amazing man and mentor to so many children who have grown into great adults.

Western Interstate Region Works on Public Land Issues

I represent the state of Arizona on the Western Interstate Region of the National Association of County Officials. This is a group of 15 western states that help set policies in the federal government that impact the western United States. The west has different needs than other parts of the country and they are better addressed by working together as 15 states than as just one small county. Most public land is in the west and we address many of the issues regarding public land.

Lobbying Congress is a Big Part of the Job

Lobbying the US congress for money is a big part of a supervisors job. We need money from the federal government to help fund roads, schools, law enforcement and search and rescue. I have been there building relationships and fighting for the funds we need.

Travel Management

Several years ago, I served on the Resource Advisory Council of the US Forest Service. While I was there, we developed the most lenient travel management plan in the United States. Travel management encompasses big game retrieval, wood cutting, camping and roads. The forest service is now revisiting that plan and is trying to make it more stringent. I am here fighting to keep the lenient plan we have.

Housing is up in Greenlee County

What a wonderful time to live in Greenlee County. The number of new homes being built in our community is in line to exceed previous years. In addition, many older homes are also being renovated and sold, breathing new life into our neighborhoods. Increased housing creates opportunities for people to enjoy the benefits of raising their families in a rural area. I speak from experience when I say that there is no better place to live than Greenlee County.

Endorsement from Jason Whiting, Navajo County, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors

I have had the honor and privilege of working with Supervisor Richard Lunt over the past 4 years and have valued his leadership and advocacy for rural Arizona. As a supervisor from Navajo County, we share many of the same rural issues and working with Supervisor Lunt has helped the rural Arizona voice to be better heard at the state, as well as back in Washington. It has been my experience that any group Supervisor Lunt serves on, he quickly gets involved and rolls up his sleeves and gets to work. As a result of his efforts he has helped us to more than double the amount of timber Arizona harvests. He has also helped us to mitigate the impacts of government overreach and to be a voice rural Arizona continues to need. I am happy to endorse and support Supervisor Lunt, as he has earned my respect and appreciation and I hope you will elect him as a needed leader in Arizona.

Endorsement from Adele Merrell

Image may contain: 1 person, text that says 'I ENDORSE RICHARD LUNT GREENLEE COUNTY SUPERVISOR'
Supervisor Richard Lunt is one of my many brother in laws.
Like Jarom, I have watched him come in from work grab a burrito and head out to help someone's animal, or even go to help someone in need. Whether it's just a listening ear or sitting with someone who has just got some bad news or someone who has lost or is losing a loved one. Richard has lived a life in service whether he is in the Supervisor seat or not he has served Greenlee County
Richard is one of the most honorable men I have ever known and I am grateful to have him as a friend and also as a member of my family.
Greenlee County is lucky to have a man of integrity like Richard Lunt serving as County Supervisor. I hope the voters will support his re-election.
