Junior Rodeo Series Opening Night

We had a successful start to our Greenlee Junior Rodeo Series last night. It started out with a tribute to Buff Crawford, a man that helped lots of kids learn to love the sport of rodeo. There was a steer turned out in his honor and also a quote was given that he loved, "Courage is being scared to death....but saddling up anyway," by John Wayne. Buff, you were loved and you will be missed.

State FFA Judging Contest at Lunt's Dairy

Thank you to the many volunteers that helped make the State FFA Dairy Judging Contest at Lunt's Dairy a success. It's unbelievable the community support that we get to put this on. Congratulations to the 13 teams that participated from all over the state. I enjoyed helping judge the contest. FFA has helped all of my children.

Trimming Steers/Wolf/Arizona All-Star Football Breakfast
A while back we trimmed some 4-H and FFA steers. Here I am making a point of what to look for in shaping the hoof.
This week I also attended a wolf meeting with the state director of Agriculture, Mark Killion, on compensation for the presence of wolves. I believe The Endangered Species Act never intended for just a few to bear the burden of the endangered species.
This morning I also helped serve breakfast to the all-star teams playing in the Arizona All-Star Football game tonight in Duncan, Arizona. I visited with the boys and there are some pretty fine young men represented on these teams. Thanks to the volunteers who help make this event happen.

FFA Award Night Sponsorship

Once again we are pleased to sponsor a proficiency award at the Annual FFA Banquet. FFA has been a positive influence in my life and in my children's lives. What a great program this is! What a wonderful asset it is to our community and our school. The FFA has helped so many through the years. Thank you, Mrs. Presley for all that you do.

Javalina Chase

We just completed another successful Javelina Chase and Rampage. John and Pam Lieberenz once again did an excellent job of planning the bicycle race. Dan Carver also did a great job planning the Ghost Mine Rumble . I want to thank the Greenlee County Rodeo Royalty for helping us present awards. I also want to thank the many volunteers who helped with the event in various ways.
Everyone who attended the Rampage seem to have a really good time. There was family fun for everyone.
