Where's the Beef?

I have been involved in the beef industry almost all of my life.  When I was 16 years old, seven of the boys in our extended family started the Seven L Cattle Company.  I am still part of that company today.

In 1979, I returned to the family farm/dairy/ranch to work.  I managed the dairy part of the operation.  I became involved with the dairy industry and was appointed to the Arizona Beef Council by the dairymen.  I served there for 16 years.  During that time, I was appointed to the National Livestock and Meat board were I was a board member for 9 years.  The industry changed during those times and I was appointed to the National Cattlemen's Beef Association as a board member.  The last thing I did on that board before I left was serve on the nominating committee that nominated Andy Grosetta from Arizona as president.  The main function of these boards was to promote the beef industry.

These opportunities taught me the bigger picture of the industry.  The men I worked with were good men - men of honor and integrity.  I learned how to work with boards and how to get things done.  These experiences prepared me for serving as your county supervisor.
